I being a Marley fan always thought this to be a song made by a cool singer for a cool topic. Well, it's not cool to be offensive though to a certain womankind. But then today I read about what it really means. It says, "no woman? don't cry." in a certain Jamaican vocab of which Bob Marley was a container of, and this was written for his wife Rita Marley who underwent great austerities with him until he was not successful.
As the world celebrates the respect and love towards a a certain sect of Homo Sapiens usually characterized by long hair and a warm heart, I recall my life, pressing on the rewind button and counting those kind on my fingers. well, I certainly have very few a fingers to count that.
I remember her doing my hair, washing me, cooking for me, being my support, wiping my tears. She even fought a teacher for me. She who made a hell lot of sacrifices for me. She who even before my birth fought with her husband to send me to the best (most expensive) school in the city sacrificing all her desires of the youth. She who went to my school for all my "deeds" and never came against me. She who woke up an hour before I did, everyday, and thus the reason that I carried with myself a heavy delicious lunch and a stomach. Her delicacies, her voice, her features I got, her endurance I've learnt. She who couldn't let go without wet eyes her two sons. She who taught me to fear no one when I'm right. She who still waits with all her foody affection for at my home.
All the moral and education I've got is given to me by this kind; as most of my teachers have been females. It was she who taught me the basic alphabets and it was she who taught me writing essays with those alphabets. It was she who taught me to add up discretes and it was she who taught me how to integrate the continuous. It was she who taught me to seek permission before going to pee and it was she who who made a few pee in their pants.
The feminine part of the world has given me the best of friends. The friend who cried on phones, the friend who made my projects; the friend who lied for me, and the friend who still lies for me; the friend who fought in love, and the friend who fought in anger. Not only a friend, this part has given me a relation called 'sister', where I've been blessed with a handful of mad, nutty ones; the ones who've guided me, the ones who've always been warm; the ones who sing beautifully, and the ones who talk loud; the ones who'd call me "da" and the ones who'd call me "meeku".
I don't know what it is about womankind that makes them so sensible. Of all the people I've hit off well (not the wrong way), majority is of women. A senior who's like my elder sister cum guide and to whom I turn whenever I'm under attack; a friend who in no time became a loving sister; a friend without whom I'd never passed an exam and without talking to whom it'll be impossible to breathe; and a friend, who came so close that it's hard to talk to her without being scolded, and apologizing without a reason.
